Community - Mead, Kayla (4th Grade)
Messages
Dear Parents,
There are two upcoming 4th-grade activities I want to be sure you are aware of:
- January 16 from 2:00 - 2:45: This is an opportunity for parents to participate in a classroom activity. Students will be sharing their animal adaptation books in small groups. If you would like to participate, please reach out directly to Ms. Mead via ClassDoJo by tomorrow because this event is in two days.
- January 22 from 8:30 - 2:15: 4th graders will take a field trip to Tsongas Industrial History Center in Lowell. Ms. Mead is looking for CORI-approved chaperones from our class. Please reach out to Ms. Mead if you are interested in chaperoning.
In case either form did not make it home I have attached images of the flyers here, which include additional information.
Feel free to reach out if I can provide additional information.
Thanks!
Karina
Hello, Everyone!
I will be putting together our class holiday gift before the break. If you would like to contribute to the class holiday gift for Ms. Mead, please do so by Monday December 16th. It is easiest to send via Venmo to @Karina-Drees with "Ms. Mead gift" in the notes, but if you're unable to use Venmo please email me at kdrees@gmail.com and I'm happy to collect another way.
Any amount you’re comfortable giving is very much appreciated. If you have any gift ideas as well, please let me know. All suggestions are welcomed!
There are still quite a few families who have not signed up for membership toolkit so if you know anyone’s email or phone numbers who may also like to contribute to the class gift, please feel free to share this with them.
Thank you!
Karina
Happy Halloween, parents! Sharing the teacher feature flyer about our wonderful Ms. Mead.
The Killam Trunk or Treat event is this Sunday, October 27 from 2:00 - 4:00, and we need more parent volunteers to help on-site (set up and welcome table shifts). The shifts are one hour and fifteen minutes. Signup/details are here.
The Scholastic Book Fair will be at Killam Tuesday, October 15th through Friday, October 18th (with evening hours until 6pm on Wednesday, October 16th)
Ms. Mead's class is scheduled to attend on Wednesday, October 16 at 11:00am.
Volunteers are needed to help make our Book Fair a success! We need adults to help the students find the perfect book and to offer a helping hand. If you've ever wanted to work in a bookstore, now's your chance.
If you have some time to help at the Book Fair, either during our class time, with the set-up next Thursday, October 10th after school, or with breakdown on Friday October 18th after school, please sign-up through the Sign-Up Genius: Book Fair Volunteer Sign-Up
Please note: All volunteers must have a current CORI on file (good for 3 years). Please stop by the main office this week to complete the form if you have not done so already.
Thank you so much for your support!

Good morning!
My name is Karina Quelet and I will be the room parent for Ms. Mead’s classroom this year. I wanted to keep you informed of a few activities and reminders as we start the school year.
- Register for Membership Toolkit: If you haven’t already registered or are aware of families that are missing information, let them know about Membership Toolkit. Registering is essential to receiving important information from the PTO and automatically provides everyone with a class directory! Please see the attached flyer for instructions on how to sign up
- Attend a PTO Meeting: Attend a PTO meeting to learn about upcoming events and how you can support Killam. Our next meeting is on 10/22 at 7pm in the Killam media room.
If you have any questions, please let me know.
Thanks and I hope you all have a wonderful year,
Karina Quelet (Max's mom)
