Outcome—Lion King teacher gifts
Wow, what a show—our kiddos were absolutely incredible last night!! If you missed the first show, I hope you are able to catch it tonight!
Thank you all SO much for your generous contributions for a group gift for our fabulous teachers—Ms Beckman, Ms. Sonia, Mrs. Hussey, and Mrs. Iozzo—who poured so much time and energy into this amazing production.
The cast will present these gifts at the end of tonight’s performance. Each teacher will receive a dozen roses and gift cards to Bagel World, Professors Market, and VISA (to spend anywhere), and added a little extra for Ms. Beckman—a Starbucks gift card too.
Thank you again for your generosity!

Lion King Jr. — teacher gifts
Hello 5th grade parents!
As the Lion King Jr. performance dates approach, I wanted to reach out and offer to put together “thank you” gifts for our teachers, Ms. Beckman, Ms. Sonia, Mrs. Hussey, and Mrs. Iozzo, who have been so generous with their talents and time over the past few months.
If you would like to contribute, please let me know by Wednesday, 3/26. Venmo me (@Megan-Schwint — phone last four digits are 7571) or if you prefer cash, email/text me and we can meet up at Killam. Participation is completely optional, there is no required contribution and any amount contributed is great.
We will present these gifts at the cast party after the final show on Saturday. I hope your kiddos have enjoyed this experience, it’s been such a great opportunity for them all.
Thank you!
Megan Schwint (Ellie’s mom) and Denise Dias (Pedro’s mom)

Ps: I know there are some 4th graders also participating in the show, but I don’t have access to email their grade—please feel free to forward this message!

PTO Volunteers
Happy new year all!
The PTO is looking for volunteers for two upcoming events. See below for info, and if you are interested in volunteering you can follow up with Vanessa Curry. Thanks!
Jen
Hi Killam families,
The PTO is looking for volunteers for two big events coming up. Please contact Vanessa Curry (killamptopresidents@gmail.com) if you are interested or would like more information.
1. Parent's Night out (March/April) - this is a fun night out for Killam parents, and one of our big fundraisers that allows us to have so many events and field trips for the kids all year long! We are looking for one or two people to lead the committee of volunteers to help plan this event.
2. Mathnasium (3/12, 6-730pm) - we need 25 volunteers to help staff the game tables, volunteers can be parents, high school, or middle school students. Mathnasium provides instruction on how to play each game and no experience is necessary. Please use this SignUp Genius to register.
Thank you in advance for your help in making these events successful!

Ms Travis Gift
Thanks to everyone who donated for a holiday gift for Ms Travis. We collected $140 and I put together a gift bag with a few things for her classroom with a giraffe theme (her fav animal). I also got her a couple fun items including a cute ornament with all the kids names. I'll plan to give it to her tomorrow.
Thanks again and Happy Holidays!

Holiday Gift for Ms Travis
Hi all,
I hope you all had a lovely Thanksgiving! Now that it is officially the start of the holiday season, it's time to start thinking of a holiday gift for Ms Travis. I will be putting together a gift basket for her on behalf of room 6 parents. (If anyone feels a burning desire to help with this, or if you have ideas, please let me know!)
If you'd like to contribute to the gift, you can Venmo me @Jennifer-Corwin-1 (last digits of phone number are 9462) but there is NO obligation to do so! I'll use whatever we have by Dec 13 to purchase items, and plan to deliver the gift on Dec 19 or 20. If we have any leftover funds I'll add it to a gift card for her.
Thanks!
Jen

Book Fair Volunteers
Dear Parents and Families,
The Scholastic Book Fair will be at Killam Tuesday October 15th through Friday October 18th (with evening hours until 6pm on Wednesday October 16th)!
Ms. Travis's class is scheduled to attend on Thursday October 17 at 2pm.
Volunteers are needed to help make our Book Fair a success! We need adults to help the students find the perfect book and to offer a helping hand. If you've ever wanted to work in a bookstore, now's your chance!
If you have some time to help at the Book Fair, either during our class time, with the set-up next Thursday October 10th after school, or with breakdown on Friday October 18th after school, please sign-up through the Sign-Up Genius: Book Fair Volunteer Sign-Up
Please note: All volunteers need to have a current CORI on file (good for 3 years). Please stop by the main office this week to complete the form if you have not done so already.
Thank you so much for your support!
Jen
